Hey Charles, I f you use balsa or basswood you might try paper laminating. It will add a lot of strength without a lot of weight. TOM ROLAND MMAR Fly em straight and fly em high.

Better yet, you might want to just switch over to either Basswood or just go with Aircraft plywood. You will add a little weight but what you sacrifice in weight you gain in strength. If you stick with 1/8 plywood or 3/16 basswood you won't be adding too much weight.

The fins where made of basswood, a free fall from apogee onto blacktop is what did the job. I’m in the process of organizing my photos found some more of Aquila. Never mind the S.E.M.R. watermarks on the photos, they were for a website of a club that consisted of my wife and here little brother and sister and myself. Was more for fun then anything. Sketch of Aquila with rough dimensions for the mid power version I am working on. Aquila after fixing the fin with a little bit of an updated paint job.
